“There’s a kind of nostalgia to it … looking back to the power of infrastructure in the landscape…. And simultaneously, it looks forward to try to capture the public imagination of how we might once again build heroically in service of the common good.”

A studio explored innovative transportation modes ranging from personal electric vehicles to high-speed trains in the Texas Triangle and utilized generative AI to create a multimodal knowledge hub. Located between Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, this advanced research facility and high-speed rail station addresses issues of food scarcity and financial insecurity through technology and innovation. Focused on agricultural technology and sustainable development, the research operates alongside automated facilities, offering a vision of future hybrid human-robotic work environments. Reflecting Texas’s rich railroad history, this project highlights the cultural and societal impact on the state’s urban fabric. Its automation and crisis relief goals can extend across Texas metropolitan areas, linked by public railroads, to share services, innovation, research, and food between communities.
