About

Nyx Valerdy Marquez, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is an architect at the Houston Studio of Perkins&Will, working across science and technology, healthcare, and higher education projects. Her experience ranges from overseeing cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction to documenting biomedical and biocontainment research laboratories, as well as medical education spaces.

Raised in Puebla, Mexico, Valerdy Marquez draws on a lifelong interest in the interplay between the built environment and human mood. She graduated Cum Laude from the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design at the University of Houston and received an Alpha Rho Chi Leadership Award through her involvement in student organizations. During her studies, she served on local and national boards, including the National Architectural Accrediting Board. Valerdy Marquez is passionate about mentorship and continues to build her leadership through programs such as AIA National Next to Lead. She currently serves on the Texas Society of Architects’ Publications Committee.
