Design for a Changing Climate
In partnership with LCRA Parks, the ÖÖD Mirror Houses have been introduced for the first time to a public park in the US at the new Cameron Ranch Glamping site on Lake Bastrop. “We wanted to create a place where guests could disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with their loved ones,” says Garrett Brown, CEO of Cameron Ranch Glamping. “These unique cabins immerse visitors in nature while offering the comfort and luxury of thoughtfully designed mirror houses.” Designed by Estonian brothers Jaak and Andreas Tiik, these minimalist, prefabricated structures feature reflective exteriors that blend into the natural landscape, offering a striking yet unobtrusive presence. ÖÖD Houses are typically found in remote, private settings, and their integration into public parkland required thoughtful navigation of environmental, design, and guest experience challenges—bringing a new level of accessibility to high-end, nature-focused accommodations while advancing goals around mental health, sustainability, and beautiful design in everyday travel.
