Texas Society of Architects welcomes our new communications coordinator, Rachel Cooper. She joins the TxA communications team under Director of Communications Elizabeth Hackler and will work to promote the Society’s strategic priorities through our weekly newsletter, website, social media, and more.
Cooper is a born-and-raised Austinite and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a degree in journalism with a minor in Spanish. While in college, she worked and wrote for The Daily Texan, Austin Monthly, KUT Radio, and Texas Exes magazine the Alcalde.
After graduation, Cooper joined Teach for America, where she taught high school English in New Orleans and became enamored with the city’s unique architecture along with the people, music, and food.
Cooper couldn’t stay away from her hometown for long, so she returned to the Live Music Capital, where she loves to attend concerts on a weekly basis, try out all the new happy hour spots, practice yoga, and enjoy green spaces with her friends and family.
