Newson Aluminum Chair
Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s 1928 Tugendhat Chair, Marc Newson’s new side chair for Knoll employs a similar reverse cantilever design where the seat floats effortlessly and is joined to the back via the legs of the chair. The chair consists of three high-pressure castings — a main frame and two end caps — that connect to create a simple yet structurally sound cast aluminum frame. The tightly knit mesh seat and back integrate seamlessly with the frame, which comes in arm and armless versions.

Allsteel Created in partnership with California-based designer Chris Adamick, Allsteel’s Recharge portfolio includes upholstered benches, seats, poufs, privacy screens, and tables that can be configured to provide semi-enclosed areas in a variety of open environments. Recharge’s kit of parts is based on a 29-in-square module that allows the addition of bolsters or 3-D knit fabric privacy screens without increasing the overall footprint. Power capabilities are offered on benches and connector tables and wiring in concealed-in-base structures and in between modular units.
