Texas Society of Architects welcomes our new Government Affairs Associate, Caitlyn Alexander. She joins the Government Affairs and Advocacy team under Director of Government Affairs and Advocacy, Becky Walker. She will work with the Government Affairs Steering Committee, TxA’s Committee on the Environment, the School Safety Subcommittee, and the Texas Society of Architects Committee to further TxA’s legislative and advocacy initiatives.
Caitlyn was born and raised in Crowley, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University with degrees in honors sciences and the humanities, philosophy with a concentration in ethics, and a minor in political science. In college, she was involved in the department of philosophy as a student executive committee member and student assistant for the department. She was also a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
After graduation, Caitlyn worked as a Research Associate for the Texas Senate. She specialized in public education and higher education policy and supported Senate members and committees by conducting policy research, covering Senate committee hearings, and summarizing bills passed by the 88th Legislature.
Caitlyn enjoys exploring new restaurants, happy hours, and green spaces in Austin. She spends her weekends hiking, practicing yoga, and shopping at vintage and antique stores.
