On October 9-10 and October 16-17, 2021, a virtual conference, organized by UTSOA Professor Wilfred Wang, will take place to discuss and define the purposes and methods of architectural criticism. Titled “On the Duty and Power of Architectural Criticism,” the conference will include four keynote speakers and a selection of 16 submitted architectural papers to activate a discussion on the role of criticism in the 21st century.

The call for contributions dictates that abstracts, no greater than 250 words, should address either the duty or the power of architectural criticism, in both cases offering the outline of one analysis of an existing building. Abstracts are due by April 30, 2021, and should be submitted to icac2021contributions@gmail.com. Registration for free audience places (max. 300) will open July 2 via icac2021contributions@gmail.com.
